Here at Mayanser we will only accept the very best in all our animals, that is why I have spent years researching bloodlines from all over the world and also travelling to see for myself Males, Females and their progeny from various bloodlines. I look for balanced drives, Males/Females who are equally as happy both on and off the Schutzhund field. It is great to get the big points, and also very rewarding but remember we have to live with these animals, there is nothing worse than a dog who cannot switch off when his/her work is completed. They should be balanced enough to be able to know the difference between work and family living, a good dog is one who will protect his/her handler and family when under threat but can also be happy and content in a normal family environment. We hope that this has given you an insight into what our breeding program is all about and hopefully helped you understand our aims now and always have been, to always improve. We have now imported Males/Females of East German DDR Bloodlines, West German Bloodlines, Czech Bloodlines and Slovak Bloodlines all having the above balance.

Do you really know and understand your German Shepherd Dog?
 

Having been involved and owning German Shepherd Dogs for over 40 years both in show and schutzhund dogs it is of my opinion we have two entirely different types of GSD. One being specifically bred for anatomical construction and running around a ring at breakneck speeds often trying to get away from the complete stranger on the other end of the leash, the so called professional handler. Now before you all jump up and down in rage about my comments hurling nonsensical abuse in my direction remember, I have been on both sides of the fence in both camps and I know what the show dogs temperaments are really like and also the vast majority who own them. People who know me and understand me also know I have always and always will be strict on temperament. Never confuse temperament with character or nature as these are different areas within the GSD. I wish that I had a pound for every time that I have been told, “ He has a fantastic temperament” by various show people and all because this so called wonder dog or bitch has jumped up and wagged its tail at me. Now I ask you is that temperament, to me it does not prove a thing about temperament at all. A show dog is a show dog and bred for that reason and that reason alone, it is NOT AND NEVER EVER, EVER WILL BE A GOOD WORKING DOG. A working GSD is one who fully commits with self assurance and confidence to the task before him, tracking, obedience and protection. Before any newcomer to the breed purchases a GSD puppy they should ask themselves this question, do I want this dog/bitch for work or show. If it is for show, then choose from show lines with good hips and if possible good nerves, if its for schutzhund/work then choose from proven working lines with good hips and also good temperaments. If you try to mix them it will be fruitless. In conclusion if you are happy with your show dog then I say good luck to you, be happy and enjoy him/her. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO TELL ME THEY ARE THE SAME AS A WORKING GSD AND CAN WORK AS GOOD AS THEM, because I say to you tell me a show dog who has done well at the Bundessieger Prufung or World Championships. THERE NEVER HAS BEEN OR EVER WILL BE A DOG BRED FROM SHOW LINES TO DO WELL AT THESE EVENTS.
